Multnomah County Fair

Over Memorial Day weekend, we met the Sages at the Multnomah County Fair. We thought it was kind of strange that the fair happened in late spring rather than late summer, but whatever. It was fun. As opposed to the state fair that we took the kids to last summer, this fair had tons of kiddie rides. Grace and Ben had a blast on the motorcycles:

... and race cars:

Of course, no trip to the fair is complete without some yummy fair food. Here's G sharing an ice cream cone with Chad:

Next, we hit the carousel. Ben was all about the chicken:

... and, of course, Grace chose "Ginger" the giraffe. (She has really been into giraffes lately.)

We elected Jill as the official "Big Pink" slide-goer-downer. I think she made four runs up & down the slide that day.

At one point, Gracie spotted the big roller coaster. She called it a "choo choo" and was mesmerized by all the loops and screaming passengers.

Although I am not a fan of toy guys, I can never resist the allure of a good midway game. This is an easy one for the kittens. In fact, with just a little assistance, Gracie sprayed that clown ALL the way to the top and won a little stuffed kitty!

To round out our day, we took a train ride around the fairgrounds. The fair was at Oaks Park, so there were lots of fun things to look at along the way.

On our way out, we stopped to see the baby farm animals. Here are some adorable piglets:

... a lamb:

... and some baby goats:

It was a great day, and perhaps the start of a new Memorial Day weekend tradition.

You are the most beautiful of ALL the flowers for certain. You make all the others pale in comparison. I get to kiss those sweet cheeks tomorrow, yeah, Grandma can't wait. I love you so much Grace Evelyn Ashley Teigen.....
